AFSCME members have long stood at the forefront of battles to expand civil rights and build a stronger labor movement. We honor those who have gone before us and who have sacrificed so much by continuing the fight for racial, social and economic justice. By learning our history, we can discover creative new ways to face our challenges.

Every day we create the narrative that strengthens our union while building a stronger and inclusive labor movement.

Join us as we:

  • Identify consistent themes and patterns throughout our shared history to see how we can make lasting change.
  • Connect the past to the present and envision how we can use these lessons to build a stronger and more inclusive movement that is ready to tackle future fights.
  • Take action to contact legislators, make calls, sign petitions and support the passage of the PRO Act and the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act so we can grow our movement and create a better future for working people.
